I
am the executive in charge of a small nonprofit working
on volunteerism issues in the HIV/AIDS nonprofit sector.
Our work requires the collection, adaptation, and redistribution
of a lot of material from the internet. We use 2 computers
in this work. Our small size has limited our ability
to purchase a solid set of backup drives, and we have
relied on luck as much as a prudent plan, when it comes
to backing up our work.
Alas, we had a major systems crash a few months ago,
caused by drives with errors that would have reported
out via S.M.A.R.T., if only we had been monitoring them.
Weeks of effort have resulted in the recovery of a good
deal of the data involved, but we've also lost a lot
permanently. And that hurts!
Since then we have been able to begin using DriveSitter
on both systems (one is Windows XP Pro SP2,
and the other is Windows Vista). We allow the tool
to run all the time, and it gives us a fast, reliable
picture of our drives' health.

is very rare these days to come across a program that
is written and documented to such a high standard as

I am with your DriveSitter program. It is absolutely
the best S.M.A.R.T. monitoring program I have tried.
It is certainly the most full featured of the available
drive monitoring programs. I am especially impressed
with your Attribute Time Series graph.

muss ich aber eine grosses Kompliment aussprechen.
Habe lange gesucht und verschiedene Programm ausprobiert,
welche analog zu DriveSitter die SMART-Parameter auswerten.
DriveSitter hatte aber klar die Nase vorn. Was für
mich u.A. entscheidend war, ist die Möglichkeit,
einzelne Parameter auch als Grafik über einen
Zeitraum anzeigen zu lassen. Auch sind die einzelnen
Tags mit einem Quickinfo (Hint) dokumentiert. Die Oberfläche
ist aufgeräumt und gut individuell einstellbar.
Alles ist exportierbar. Bin nach wie vor überzeugt
davon, dass es zurzeit das Beste Produkt zum Thema
SMART auf dem Markt ist.

feel I must pay you a big compliment. I've searched
for a long time and tried various programs which analyze
the SMART parameters in a similar way DriveSitter does.
But DriveSitter clearly was ahead by a nose. What was
decisive for me was the possibility to display single
parameters as a graph over time, among other things.
Furthermore, the single tags are documented by a quick
info (hint). The user interface is tidy and individually
adjustable. Everything is exportable. I'm still sure
that it is the best product dealing with SMART in the
market by now.

I've
been looking for good SMART monitoring for some time,
and have tried half a dozen programs. DriveSitter is
BY FAR the best. Very flexible, feature rich and comprehensive.
I especially like the rich remote notification options
because I can't look at every system every day.

The
DriveSitter did warn me after the first purchase, of
a hard drive problem. I used a program from Western
Digital to check the drive, and it was bad and near
failure. DriveSitter definitely saved a whole hard
drive of very important documents. [...] It is a life
